Books // Reasons To Stay Alive

Reasons To Stay Alive by Matt Haig is a must read if you suffer from depression. It really made me feel like someone understood. Almost every line I found myself nodding in agreement, yes it does feel just like that.
My depression is different to his as I don't have anxiety linked with mine (thank goodness) but there was just so much that I found was helpful. Reading it is like being wrapped up, hugged and told that it is alright to feel like crap because it will get better slowly. There is always light at the end of the tunnel even if you can't see around that bend yet.

I think even people that don't battle with depression should read this as some sort of insight into the way it feels. The more people understand about mental illnesses the less of a taboo subject it will become.
